Abstract
Rapid urban expansion and immgration in the 19th century called for new parishes to be built, as described in “Building Churches on New Jersey's Northwest Frontier.” A “Meet the Commission” article and the announcement of the next Gerety lecture, “Catholicism and Race in the Twentieth-Century Urban North” by Prof. John T. McGreevy, are included in this issue.
