Our Aims & Goals

The Journal of Health Communication Innovation aims to improve healthcare advocacy by promoting discourse between scholars, providers, patients, and caregivers.
Through an innovative platform, this journal provides a forum for the blending of media, art, and science to optimize health promotion, improve disease prevention, and affirm emerging best practices among health professionals and patients, caregivers, and consumers alike.
This journal seeks extended literature reviews and review essays that put health stakeholders in conversation with one another regarding a particular disease or topic unique to human medicine and health. Submissions that highlight innovative management practices that are informed by the principles of narrative medicine, medical humanities, and the co-creation of health communications involving patients’ perspectives and experiences are especially encouraged, since Health Communication Innovation highlights practical applications of knowledge translation and practice across the continuum of care. We also welcome submissions that focus on health literacy and the use of implementation science guidelines, along with direct contributions of patient-centric learning materials (interactive, digital, replicable) as visually and orally compelling media assets based on accepted submissions will supplement the written content in each issue..
