For a number of years the Center for Catholic Studies ran seminars related to establishing and fostering the new core curriculum. The idea of the new core germinated at the May 2001 Catholic Studies Faculty Seminar, The Core of the Core: Reflections on the Core Curriculum. Thereafter, it ran a number of seminars related to the core. Among those seminars would be the following:
