Strangers in a Strange Land - an exhibition on the history of Italian-language American Imprints, September 8 - October 17th, 2014, Opening Reception: September 10th, 5pm to 8pm, Readings by curators, James Periconi & Robert Viscusi, September 24th, 6pm to 7:30pm.
Strangers in a Strange Land will showcase a wide range of literary works from the collection of James Periconi. These literary works entertained, educated and inflamed an Italian-language audience during a critical period in Italian-American history, most notably, the era encompassing the two World Wars. Nearly 150 books, pamphlets, handbills, chromolithographs and photographs will illuminate the history and culture of Italian-Americans and Italians in America.
