The work of French Expressionist printmaker and painter, Georges Rouault, will be exhibited in a newly re-contextualized show which highlights the theme of redemption. Curated by Jeanne Brasile.
Symposium: Georges Rouault and the Art of Sacred Engagement. 9/27/08 2 - 5pm. Sponsored by The Center for Catholic Studies. Followed by a gallery reception 5 - 7pm.
Msgr. J.M. Oesterreicher Memorial Lecture: Chagall and Rouault: Paintings of the Crucifixion. 10/26/08 2 - 4pm. Sponsored by The Institute of Judaeo Christian Studies. Followed by a closing reception 4 - 6pm.
